Smoked/Tinted Headlights

I've been thinking about getting my headlights smoked lightly and was wondering if anybody on here has theirs done and has any night time pictures? My buddy mixes black paint with clear and told me he could do them for me. Just wondering how much light output will be lost for night time driving. I have 5000K HID's so that will help some. I'm not wanting to go dark just a light smoke.

I would use the light smoke vinyl tint. It's cheaper, easier, more translucent and completely reversible.

I had tinted headlights for about a month and I was not happy with the light output at all so I changed them out and that was with my 6000k HID kit installed. Mine may have been to dark though.

I wouldn't smoke em. I only did my tails.

I have seen on forums where people have said the lights crack due to heat buildup with the film.

Like I said....I would just leave them alone IMO. Not a big fan of smoked headlights. And I heard the same thing from a local shop about the cracking.
