Hey all, 2007 suburban here and have an issue with smoke out the tail pipe after been sitting a while.

Also smoke LOTS of it after driving on uneven terrain when we went to get our Xmas tree while driving through a field.

I also noticed that while turning left and getting on the throttle, I had a fair amount of smoke again (different day).

Motor is a 3 year old ATK not a junk yard motor that I had a shop put in (these guys didn’t know what they were doing).

Thinking it’s a valve or seal letting oil into combustion chamber or maybe into exhaust only when splashing around? Not running rough though.

Trucks got a fair amount of rust and I’m ready to just sell it for scrap or cars for kids or something..

My educated guess is a valve stem seal. Easy to replace all 16.

Not a lot of love out there for ATK from past customers.

Like @Geotrash said, sounds like classic valve stem seal problems. Watch you tube videos on how to do. Not that hard. Extreme need would be heads off and do valve guides too.
