Hmmmmmmm??????? Where is our lovely GM Customer Service gal Breanne? I am wondering if she would like to contact the dealer and follow up on this for you????? But, I am willing to bet that she will not do that.

Maybe they shouldn't be in business at all when it comes to parts?!?!?!?!

They are in parts because a lot of people don't trust biting parts off the internet and think the dealer well have higher quality parts, same mentality as buying a used vehicle from a dealer as opposed to private party. I am not saying I agree with this but it's a choice.

I agree they need to make a profit. I have no problem with that. I just don't like being told I'm wrong when they know what they are saying is false. I used to be in the automotive business. I earned my clients business by being honest. There are a lot of scripts that sales people learn to cover common objections to pricing. Most people don't like being worked.

As long as there are sheep out there, they'll keep charging those high prices.

Dealerships make their profit in the parts and service departments.

They don't make anything selling you a new car.

And your point is? That it therefore should be acceptable for them to charge twice the price on parts?

Furthermore, I disagree with your statement that they do not make "anything" on selling me a car!

I am sure that not everyone negotiates the price equally, meaning that if I walk out of the Stealership with an awesome price, it does not necessarily mean that the old couple who does not know how to negotiate or the rich guy who does not need to negotiate paid the same price. So if a car/truck is 50K and I get it for 42K, the dealer for sure did not give it to me loosing money, but they may for sure get the 50K from the old couple or the rich guy.

Before I purchased my Yukon, I test drove a Tahoe at the local Dealership which was mechanically sound, had the right miles on it and they asked 15K for it. I looked at it in detail and it needed a lot of paint work as it was practically scratched up all over the place. I offered them 12K as I said it needed a new paint job. They did not sell it to me, I walked.

Two days later they called me and wanted to sell it to me for 10K.

But yeah, I am sure they do not make ANY money on selling cars, only on overpriced parts. COME ON!!!!!!

I have a buddy that sells used cars. I know that there not new but says if his boss buys a car for 10K he would want to sell it at 18K that's 8K to work with. When the hell does anyone bring down the price 8gs? That's almost an impossible on used car dealers.

There is a lot more money to be made in used cars vs new ones. When I traded my Evo in for my Denali, I got $19k for the Evo. The next day, the dealer had it listed for $26k lol. I wish I knew what they got for it since I think it sold in a couple days.

They sell at MSRP and the internet is competing with the million others on the internet. I have had my dealer match an internet quote but I would never expect them to.

I agree they make there BEST/HIGHEST profits in parts.

But your absolutely WRONG when you ssay they don't make anything on selling a new car. When I bought my '10 Tahoe... i was next to a guy that was signing paper work for a brand new '12 Tahoe for STICKER.... yea... they didn't make any profit off of that...
