SO PISSED!!! Can powder coated wheels be re-powdered without stripping finish?

yea i've messed up wheels before, but never seen one crack the way this did. Not sure why i assumed the slides were powder coated, but since they are painted, i can have them all repainted for about $100. I did get a price on having them completely stripped at powder coated and it came out to $360. That includes taking the one new wheel i have ordered and stripping it down as well.

Do you think its better to go with paint or powder coat? I'm already spending $320 on a new wheel, so i don't really want to keep spending a whole lot of money on these.

I would go powder coated it lasts a little longer. But 600+ just for a wheel incident is a lot of money.

Exactly, thats why i'm almost just thinking of painted them, since it will be easier and cheaper to have them done at the body shop instead of having them sent out to be powder coated. The cost of the fender and paint is gonna run me another $270, plus one new tire is gonna get me real close to $1000. That $1000 could have definitely been put towards some more mods, but shit happens, so just gotta deal with it!

Just get them painted. Make sure he does a good job though. Also how much is the tire? It should not be more than $400.

SW CT,
Damn, the pothole had to be massive to do damage like that. I would be calling the state and see if they will cover some of it. Really sounds like a major road hazard.

I've already look into it. Basically, since it rained earlier that day, the pothole may have formed at that time, and the city needs to be allowed a reasonable time to repair the problem. so basically, no luck there. I'm over it, i just want my everything back in order and ill forget about it.

i decided to have the wheels powder coated instead of painted. I am going to give these wheels one more chance, and hopefully i don't have the same problem again. I have spring break in another week, so everything should be able to get fixed up by then.
