Solid Axle Swaps

So... in pricing out lift kits, I remember ORD has a solid axle swap kit. I looked at it years ago and it was in the neighborhood of $1500, note the price on it now:

Now I'm keeping an eye out for a hp44 from a Ford pickup to this instead of a problem-infested IFS lift.

What can you guys weigh in with? the plan is still the same, ~4" of lift and a stock appearance with no larger than a 33" tire.

Find some wagoneer outers to swap to 6 lug. Semi float 14 bolt swap out back.

Looks like a good kit.

NP246 is a slip yoke front and rear though, I'd figure that part out first. NP241 swap might be on your list as well.

I've already got plans to swap the 246 for a 241 so that I can make use of fixed yoke out puts. I think to get 4" of lift I will need to do a spring under setup and notch and brace the frame around the axle.

Good call on the Wagoneer outers, and a 14bsf with disc swap is already on the table.

1999 Ford E350 D60 rear already comes with disc brakes and has smooth bottom for greater ground clearance than the 14 bolt plus it's easy to hook up the E brake for cheap
