Back to this project:

Radio should be arriving today. I sent mine to Greg and he traded me for a non-rear DVD unit since it would suit me better. I have the OEM USB cable, OEM USB port and cover, GPS antenna and camera/VSS harness, so it should all fall into place very quickly.

I have a question on the VSS harness- isn't there a VSS signal already at the radio for the Auto Volume feature? I have no problem running a wire down to that wire harness block. But, tapping into an existing wire right there at the radio would be faster and neater.

Radio was delivered a few minutes ago. It looks like new, but it doesn't have USB, which was one of my main reasons for doing this upgrade. If a NAV radio isn't available with a USB input and WITHOUT rear seat DVD, then I'll just take my original one back and deal with it running hotter/slower.

Does anyone know if this exists and the part number?

I should find out tomorrow. The deal Greg and I had made was for me to trade him my DVD/NAV/USB unit for one just the same but without DVD since I don't have RSE. Technically, mine is a more valuable unit but it's not optimal for my setup because it would be running hotter due the processor constantly looking for the RSE module. All I wanted was the screen for a reverse camera and the USB input.

If I understood him correctly, when Greg was picking out a radio to trade to me, he mistakenly compared it to someone else's radio on the shelf that didn't have USB so he sent me a non-DVD/non-USB unit. I returned that one and the (hopefully correct) replacement should be delivered tomorrow, according to USPS tracking info.

I'll update tomorrow.

Late on this update, but it was delivered late Tuesday (had to have mail lady come back by my house since it was sent "Signature Required") and I worked late last night. I threw it in real quick Tuesday evening before heading into town. It powers up and all functions seem to operate as they should. I still need to tweak the sound to try to get it to sound as good as my original radio. Having only treble, mid, and bass adjustments sucks. I just realized I haven't tested the rear seat radio functions. I'll check those soon.

I have the cost of the radio, GPS antenna, video/VSS input harness, OEM USB cable, dash port and cover, Greg's programming fee and shipping fees invested in it and I'm right at or under what just the interface components alone would've cost to install an aftermarket unit. So, overall, I'm happy. I know of an older but new/unused Lock Pick for sale for $50 that I might get if it's features are worth it. I need to get the exact model number and research it. I may go ahead and get the reverse camera as my next purchase, though.
