Hey guys...can someone point me to a good front brake calipers please?
I have looked online, and they all seem to be remanufactured. Is that normal?
I am going with Power Slot 126-66009SL Slotted Brake Rotors and Hawk Performance HPS Brake Pads, but cant find the calipers to go with.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for beating the dead horse on this.

Yea reman'd are normal, all that is really there to be replaced is a seal.

Well, assuming the rebuilders are not crooks out to cause you great bodily harm, there's not much to do other than replacing seals. A good inspection of the piston and the bore is really the only other thing that is necessary. Some calipers cannot be rebuilt b/c they are pitted. I've rebuilt several calipers myself. All you really need is some compressed air to get the piston out. Then clean everything up really well, inspect for pitting, then put it all back together with your new parts. Really pretty easy. All my calipers have worked perfectly after rebuilding.

I did not see any pitting on the calipers I rebuilt. I did consider rebuilding a brake master cylinder but ended up getting a new one b/c the old one was pitted (was a cab-over motorhome our family had owned since new -- 48k miles, 20+ years and the brake fluid had never been changed. Not my fault lol -- I was not responsible for maintenance). Basically the same sort of inspection you'd want to do on a caliper. You can't kit a pitted bore -- it'll never seal properly in a million years lol.

A1 Cardone is the biggest remanufacturer of various car parts out there. They do calipers, master cylinders, cv axles, turbochargers, etc. They do have an ISO 9001 rating. That pretty much means they are one of the best out there. They even back their stuff with a 1 year warranty. You can buy their stuff at just about any auto parts store in your area.

I just got a Cardone master for my gf's Ford, the store I got it from sells it with a limited lifetime warranty ...

That pretty much means they are one of the best out there. They even back their stuff with a 1 year warranty. You can buy their stuff at just about any auto parts store in your area.

So does bore size matter when purchasing say the Raybestos?
Rock Auto has Bore Size=2.94 for the super stops Raybestos, or Bore Size=3.15 for professional grade. Whats the difference?

More area = more fluid needed to apply the same force ... if your master is pushing the same amt and you decrease the area behind the piston it will apply more force = stop better. If you keep the master the same and increase the caliper bore you will get less stopping power.

OK...so, I should stay with the smaller size bore if I plan on keeping the master the same size. Thanks for the clarification! It was very helpful!
What is the stock size of the bore on these Tahoe's stock calipers? Is it the 2.94 or 3.15?
