I have a 2004 Yukon 5.3L 2WD. I’m having difficulty finding places for a complete engine wiring harness. We redid the heads on the engine and were being lazy and didn’t remove any wires, just kinda pushed them out of the way. Now we can’t figure out what wires are bad they’re the original wires so we’re just wanting to redo whole thing only issue is, I can’t find anywhere that I can buy a complete wiring harness (idk if that’s the right wording for it) we’ve called around a few places, even tried a few pick and pulls bc why not and still no luck. Anybody have any resources?

You can just remove the loom, inspect and repair whatever wires are damaged, then install new loom.

I removed the entire harness from my 06 to reapply new loom because it was all crumbly and missing in several places. But removal is kinda of pain, unless the intake/heads or entire engine is out.

I would favor you keep your harness because they made slightly different configurations, drive by wire, drive by cable, some had EGR (some HD trucks, at least), then there's the red/blue vs green/blue ECU connectors... maybe I'm generalizing too much the entire GMT800 lineup here tho.

I got ahold of GM, I was told they no longer sell the engine wiring harness part 15124981 and that it’s discontinued… now I’m really at a loss on what to do?
