So the other day I picked up a Soundgate GMPD2 ipod adapter on the cheap. The manual says that it is compatible with my truck (04 Suburban) as long as it is a "Class 2" which is indicated by the presence of a band button on the radio (which I have). My truck has bose and xm from the factory.
When I installed the unit I lost all xm radio, uninstalled it and all the xm radio functions came right back. So i tried to reinstall it following the directions to the letter and no dice. When installed and I hit the band button it just goes between the fma nd am channels and does not even recognize the xm (does say "xm error" the first time I try to go thru.

I saw this unit working in the tahoe that it came out of and I swear he had xm and bose. Any suggestions? I know a couple of you on here have this adapter.

Thanks
Brandon

I just installed the PXMAG, I have XM, Bose and NAV
Used a patch cable that hooks into the 2 plugs in the rear of the radio, then into the factory harness, then the gateway.

On mine I hit the band button until it is on XM then immediately turn the tuning knob to select ipod, AUX or SAT, then pre-set 6 to select the displayed mode.

I would imagine they all operate similiarly.

I think that the soundgate is different, it plugs in right at the xm module behind the glovebox, but yes I would think that they would all work the same. That is how this one is supposed to work, but it is not quite cooperating.

You might want to check with blueflamed03. I believe he knows something about them.
