I'm headed to the middle of the desert for some 4x4 fun. Let's say you're going to be ~150 miles from any shop or parts store and you'd like to be self sufficient and bring along any common replacement parts you may need for some mild trail use. What part would you bring besides tools/water/food etc. I'm already planning on taking two spare tires.

Example: alternator, tie rod ends.

Spare CV axles, Anti freeze, Extra fluids, ect.

Ouch, you're scaring me. Being a GM and 4x4 newbie do the wheels fall off when a cv axle breaks, or could you just remove the front axles entirely and nurse it back to civilization.

Pop up canopy, fluids, a good battery, beer....check check check def check
