What is the trick to getting at cyl 8?

there is no trick. I'm a DIYer, and was concerned about cyl 8 from all of these threads. im not looking for a gold metal, but i literally had it off in 5 minutes.

i did do anything but this. completely move the spark plug wire. took the spark plug socket not being attached to anything and felt around until I knew where the plug was. its pretty hidden. I then fiddled around with a few extensions to get the perfect length, and before you know it, it was removed. honestly only took me 5 minutes and i sell light bulbs for a living.

Since I'm only 5'8" I remove the engine cover, grabbed my step stool and no **** layed across the engine bay to reach down in there.......not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
