Yes I do have subs, they are on loan to black95 until I get all my pieces to replace all the shit that was stolen!

Subs are 4ohn 12in kicker l7's in a ported box
I have a 1,500 watt mono black hifonics amp
also have a 4channel hifonics amp for the interior speakers

Crossover send bass to the subs only?

Think it would be stupid to mix match subs and speakers...

Polks have great reviews...also just found set a used jl audio speakers and crossovers for $200 on CL but awaiting on size.

The proper crossover or frequency filter on the signal lines will help with the sound quality and not dump sound where it is not needed. Check to see if the amps have filters built in or perhaps the head unit has separate preouts for front, rear and subs. If so the head unit should have a crossover built-in. As long as the speakers like front and rear have similar specs like frequency response, sensitivity and power handing mixing should not be that bad. The polk components I have are rated for 120W rms and cost about $120 a pair if you look around. My 10" SVC subs were about $110 each and handles 350W rms when wired by themselves.

Hey all I just wanna say eBay is your friend. I get most of my stuff from there and have a fairly high satisfaction/success rate. I try to make sure to buy from stores with feedback scores in the high 90s and plenty of items sold. I also try to "buy it now" instead of waiting for auctions. As long as u take your time while searching you can get great products at cost. Esp for $300-350. If I had that to spare I'd have 2 sets of components instead of my coaxials.

head unit will not have crossover for sub with nor sub preouts. Maybe the sub amp has built in filter. Website does not have viewable manual to find out. maybe call them. or post pic of sub amp controls.

if the hifonics amps are class d digital then you wont have to worry about getting the entire spectrum of frequencies if i remember correctly because generally the class d's if they are digital only let pass the signal that can be used by the woofers (which is why the effeciency is so much better than that of a class a/b) but thats at the cost of losing some sound quality, but generally you wouldnt notice that, especially with l7s, lol

and i didnt look at the specs of the headunit, but if theres only a front and rear output for the rca's, there might be a setting in the head unit to change the rear out to a sub out, but im not certain on that

class D doesnt mean digital, and there are full range class D amplifiers, not just mono.

i didnt say that all class d's are digital, i just merely stated that the bulk of class d's used for subwoofer applications are generally digital just because you dont need a full range signal sent to a subwoofer

and mono means single channel, not like stereo and mono things

full range vs just the cutoff frequencies that are used in woofers is different than mono, 2 channel, 4 channel, etc.

I understand,. but still, a majority of Class d's are not digital. I just dont want people to assume Class d meant 'digital'.
