I briefly had one in my 2005 BMW 5 series. That car's throttle tuning wasn't really objectionable, but people on the forums raved about the Sprintbooster so I thought I'd try one.

Pretty much what they do is compress the throttle signal to where it all occurs in the first ~50% of the pedal travel. In other words, a small actuation of the pedal sends a stronger throttle signal than expected, and by the time you have the pedal about halfway pressed, you are at wide open throttle.

The effect is to make the car feel more urgent using the power it has, which can fool the driver into perceiving that the car feels faster.

The BMW didn't need the help, so I took the SB off. On a Tahoe/Yukon, the throttles seem to have lackadaisical tuning to begin with, so a SB may help get them to normal. I may try one myself.
