I am hearing a squeaking noise coming from what sounds like the rear passenger side when making sharp turns or turns under higher speeds. Sometimes it will squeak at the slightest turn but not since I changed my rear brake pads. The rear parking brakes are unhooked at the moment while I find a new dust shield. There aren't even shoes in there so it shouldn't be because they aren't hooked up. Any thoughts it's driving me crazy. Also just the other day I started noticing some creaking coming from the front during sharp turns in my parking deck and some creaking too when turning and shocks extending in the front while going up the incline in the deck. Do you think the shocks are going bad in the front? It's a 03 tahoe 5.3 with 110 k shocks never been replaced...

Same Thing

Exact same squeak on right rear, especially on slow tight right turn. Been thru TWO GMC dealers. Got new back plates, discs, pads, etc ($800) = still squeaks. They BOTH say the brakes are perfect - it must be brake dust !?!?!? STILL SQUEAKS.

I would try lubricating the rubber bushings under the coil springs, I found a slight squeak there.

Check any rear axle locating bars for bolt looseness at each end. Might even be the bushings.

change the rear differential fluid if it hasn't been done in the past fifty thousand miles. Fluid quality does not last forever.

Found it !

I was all for new(er) brake pads, but found a good mechanic (after going to TWO GMC Dealers who said nothing was wrong - normal brake dust squeak!?!?) that said "let's not rush into anything...let's tear it down for a VERY CLOSE inspection".
He found a glazed shinny spot where it was the PARKING BRAKE that was making the squeak squeak squeak .
