I have a 2012 Chevy Tahoe LTZ and the front center console armrest squeaks when I lean on it. The leather from the cover is rubbing on the hard plastic of the center console. I found that if someone pushes the lid forward from the backseat the squeak stops because no contact is made.

Has anyone had/fixed this problem before? It doesn’t seem to be adjustable.

Thanks,
Ray

Are you sure that it is the leather to plastic contact, and not a squeaky hinge and spring assembly? I would recommend that you put some WD40 on the hinge and spring assembly.

If the squeak is in fact from the leather to plastic contact, I would suggest a small piece of electrical tape on the plastic surface, where you believe the squeak is coming from.

Yes, I did two things to test it. Thing #1: I put a towel over the console and closed the lid. Thing #2: I had someone push the lid forward from the back seat, preventing it from making contact.

The tape’s not a bad idea, thanks.
