Under load my Tahoe is squeaking in the rear end, louder at slow speed and only with the gas pedal on. All new brakes were put on by dealer.
Any ideas?

Squeaky shocks or springs maybe since it only happens when under load

almost sounds like an old shock that squeels as it goes up and down, so it really sounds like rubber and not metal.
Thanks 07

The noise appeared for the first time after the brake service?

At first I was going to say driveshaft universal joint. But if the noise is new since the brake job, maybe the disc brake dustshield might have got tweated and is rubbing on the rotor? But that would be present if on or off the gas.

If you had enough miles on it to need brakes then it could be time for the driveshaft ujoint as well. Sometimes you can look at it and if you see a red/brown dust substance around the bearing caps that is a sign of a bad ujoint. But it is pretty easy to check at any rate. Just take the small bolts loose that hold the d/s to the pinion yoke separate the two and take a look at it.

The noise increasing and decreasing with speed sounds very much like it could be ujoint.

You know you might be on to something because pressing the brake at the same time changes nothing...75,000 miles might be it. That fix i can handle. What are my options on warranty at this point?

Were you planning on taking the vehicle back to the dealership to have these issues resolved? Please keep us posted when the issue has been taken care of.

Thank you,
