so went to start the Yukon 5.3 yesterday and a code popped that i had a random misfire. looking at the injector wiring and noticed that a rodent chewed the wire from the loom to the connector.

could i just unhook the battery and open the wire harness , twist a negative and positive wire to the wire harness and plug into the old connector?

What's the best way to solve this without replacing the entire wire harness?

is that the plug for the injector? if so you can buy just one plug and solder its new pig tail into the old wires in the harness.

Depending on how much wire you have left, there are a few ways to deal with it:

1. New injector w/ pigtail. Cut off excess wire from the harness and solder+heat shrink. Get the adhesive lined stuff to seal moisture and contaminants out. Anything else shouldn't be considered for under the hood use

2. If you have enough wiring left over, you can re-pin it and just install a new plug. I highly suggest an appropriate ratcheting crimp tool for this

3. If there's damage elsewhere on the harness, you can replace the whole thing. I suggest doing so on a warm day / in a heated garage. Toss the harness in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 200-250 degrees (Let the oven come to temp first!). It'll make it much easier to work with. Fun fact: That's how they are installed at the factory. Harness softens, is routed, then develops a memory when cooled
