Stabilus brand lift gate supports

So my lift gate stopped functioning properly with it starting to open about a foot and then reversing and closing. As noted here many times, it seems I need lift gate supports. I just ordered a pair online. They are the stabilus brand. One side has part number 3B807349 and the other has part number 3B242839. I ordered these through the parts websites online catalog. Looking at the specs now, it seems that the extended length on both is the same but the compressed length on one is about 1” shorter than the other. Did I get the wrong part for 1 side? This brand is the only brand that has a different part number for each side. Has anyone used this brand? Did I get a wrong part? Thanks for any and all info.

Sorry brother, saw your post but no experience with this brand. Are the mounting points the same on both sides? @915_Tahoe can do part numbers with your vin.

I've seen Stabilus used with no issues however sometimes they only have something close to the OEM specs of the strut. I'm pretty sure there's another thread about this very issue as well as the lifting potential was lower than OEM. It was suggested to go with OEM for rear lift gate struts.

Thanks for the replies guys. They will be here on Monday so I’ll throw them on and see how they go. I should have checked here first before ordering. Lesson learned.

Stabilus is a gigantic manufacturer of gas shocks and gas springs. They probably supply 60% or more of all OEM hatch struts. Buy with confidence.
