Stall converter or cam swap

I guess I should say a really big reason I'm thinking the ss2 is because my buddy is a wholesale guy for them and I can get one with pac 1218 springs for a couple hundred less than the truck Norris etc.

I originally looked into the stage 2 nsr cams but I figured I was gonna replace springs anyways so why not go more aggressive. I really like the reviews of the truck Norris but cost plays a big factor in my decision

But if you have to get a looser stall and potentially other mods to really take any advantage of the wilder cam, is it really cheaper?

True. I already have long tubes and y pipe with 3" exhaust, corvette servo and tru cool 40k. I'm 2wd 3.73's so I don't have as much loss as my old awd did either.

Right- we have almost the same setup. I'd be disappointed if I didn't have a looser converter with my 212/218 .550/.550 114LSA cam. You can get away with more cam since yours is a 6.0 versus my 5.3. But 228/230 is still a bit excessive to retain low-end and certainly won't build it. The tighter LSA will help this some. I'd still get a converter for the SS2 or choose another cam. Another cam might cost more, but if it doesn't require a converter to take advantage of it, then it could be the same overall cost or less and, more importantly, you'd enjoy it more.

My tune guy keeps harping on me to put a stall in it regardless but I just can't justify $700+ for the circle D haha

My CircleD was around $350-$400, I think. I'm sure their prices have increased a little since, but you still shouldn't need a $700 converter.

I emailed Chris with circle D the other day, their cheapest for my setup is $699

Talked to Glenn's performance. He recommended the tsp stage 3 216/220 .550"/.550" 112 LSA
