I was wondering how much of a headache I would be getting in to if I were to try and convert out my standard Tahoe system to the Bose version that came in the Tahoe's. Don't know if it matters but it is a 2002 LS Tahoe. Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you have a Bose system to put in or would you have to find one?
I have never even heard the Bose system so I don't know if it would be worth pursuing or not, but I would think, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, that if you are going to go to the trouble of replacing the stock set up, that you just as well go with other aftermarket brands, buffet style pick and choose the different parts you want, head unit, amps, speakers, sub, etc. Build a system that is unique and specific to your ride and your preferences.

Not worth it it. You'll have to change everything to BOSE. If you want to change something, like the sorry sub for example, you need to add diff amps and line converters. Its better to go aftermarket with items that will be more compatible as far as connecting everything together.

I have the BOSE system in my Denali and cant wait to get rid of it.

what he said.

you could start out small budget wise and just do some component speakers up front, and power them off of a decent head unit (most now days have enough power to run some seprates ok) and then add rears later, then a 4 channel amp further down the road to put some power into the mids and highs to really make them sing. and as for a sub, you could just add that in whenever. if you have bose, you are locked in to that architecture and you have zero flexibility to add newer/better hardware.
