Hello all. I have a 2011 suburban 1500 LT 4x4 with an issue that has me fooled and I'm reaching out because I can't figure it out, but I have an idea.

So I have about 268k. Engine and tranny aren't original. Both were replaced around 150k each.

About 1000 miles ago, I did an AFM / VVT delete in my driveway. Used quality non performance parts. No issues. No leaks. Everything is working fine.

However, last time I filled up my tank, I used the Redline fuel system cleaner which I've used over the last 8-9 years, every 6 months.

The day after,.I developed a start up issue. Specifically, my suburban just takes longer to start, maybe even a slight hesitation but when it starts it's strong. I estimate about 3 seconds longer than what I'm used to.

Here's the kicker, when I use remote start in the morning instead of manual turn the key , everything starts up normally like I'm used to.

The startup issue is only there on cold start sitting overnight. Otherwise starts right up.

I'm thinking bad gas. Any other ideas?

I did test my battery (have a special tester at home) battery is good., I do have an Xtool D8BT I ran diagnostics. No codes.

My starter is about a year and a half old. AC Delco gold.

Is it a slow crank or just cranks for a long time before catching?

I wonder if it has anything to do with the VATS. Since it doesn't do it with the remote start.

That entire system crapped out on me back in 2016ish. spent 3 weeks at the dealer . They replaced my entire fuse box And ignition.

Any idea which fuse or relay I should be looking at for this specific problem? They're cheap enough to replace and old enough that it's not going to be such a waste if I throw a few new fuses in

VATS only disables starter or fuel?

If it takes a tad longer during cranking, me thinks IAC or if DBW, throttle not opening enough.
Thoughts?

If remote start works fine, try this when you know when it will do it.

Key it on, wait a sec, key off, then key on then start. Anything different?
I wonder with remote start, it waits after power on then starts. Some are programmed to wait a second longer to allow fuel pressure to come up. You may be attempting to start the second you turn the key on.

I'll try that. Every time I start it I always roll the key to the position where all the electronics / lights come on and wait 2-3 secs before actually starting. Haven't tried cycling it though. Will give it a shot tomorrow

According to Rick's free auto advice, just fuel.

Sorry I don't know any specifics..
