How hard is it to change out the steering gear box on a 99 Hoe?

OBS Jedi-Do Good
hoses steering shaft three bolts and pitman arm. 4wd is a PITA. 2WD is much easier.

Im going to replace the gear box, an also plan on replacing the pitman arm, and the pressure hose for the power steering. is there anything else i should change while the gear box is out?

the return hose would not be a bad idea and flush out the power steering first before removing it all.

There's also a new design on power steering pumps by A1 Cardone that incorporates a magnet to help filter metal out of the fluid. It would be the same part number as what they use to have for your truck, except they added a F at the end. If there is not a pump with the magnetic filter you can always by the universal inline filter for the hose. A1 Cardone can be found at just about any parts store. Some places have it labeled under their brand, such as Autozone with their OEM label.
