steering pump resevoir...help

so as i got out my truck today i saw some fluid dripping, i found out, or figured out that the resevior or the hoses that connect to it or broken.... has anyone had the same problems on the truck....plz help....

most likely the powersteering pressure hose, very common on these trucks.
all you need is a 18mm crowfoot, extension and ratchet for the steering box side (18mm wrench works too), and 16mm wrench for the back of the resovoir.
double check the clamps on the return hose at the same time.
re-fill with powersteering fluid or ATF

but my question is, does it spray everywhere? im talking on the radiator, brake booster, driver side fenderwell, dirver side a arms-cv shafts-lines etc.....im super pissed and super worried, hahahaha

Yeah. Just wipe the hose down with a rag, start up the truck and turn the steering wheel, hose should be covered in fluid again. It's an easy fix, just go to Kragen and pick up a new hose, it's around $14 IIRC.

Yes. The power steering lines are under quite a bit of pressure. It's just oil- it won't hurt anything.

Sounds like the problem I currently have. And yes.... it does spray everywhere. I think that's partially due to the fact that power steering fluid is rather thin, so a small amount can cover a large surface.

Good job. Its any easy fix. I spent under $20 at Advance Auto to fix this. $14.59 for the Power Steering Pressure Hose and $2.99 for a bottle of their fluid. The nut on the back of the housing is easiest reached from under the vehicle. Remove your skid plate for better access if you have one.
