Has anyone changed the color of their steering wheels? I picked up a wooden escalade wheel cheap. I really like the look of the wooden wheel, I would just it to match a little better. When it arrived it was a lot darker than it looked in the picture. I have the light neutral leather interior (522), the wheel is a dark grey. I was thinking about dyeing the rubber black and taking the wheel to an upholstery shop to get the leather replaced with some closer to what is in the truck.

Has anyone else done something like this? What would be the best way to change the color of the rubber? Interior paint tends to peel after a while. Any ideas?

How much did the wheel run you? Why not just buy the wheel you want with the color you want. You can get a brand new one for $100. I did a write up on it recently.

You could dye it the color you'd like. Or have a professional come and do it for you.

I got it for $50. I was unable to find a tan wheel. Where can you get a brand new wood escalade wheel for $100? I want a stock wheel with radio controls. The only ones I have found are grey or dark brown not tan.

I just found the site from your earlier post. That is cheap. The place I bought it from said I could return it if it didn't match. Looks like it will be going back now!

So you have one of these wheels? Do you like it? How is it holding up?

Yes I bought one of the steering wheels. Here is the post of my install. http://tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44062

I don't see any tan colors. Only gray and black. Might have to call them.

The wheel is holding up great. The leather feels great and even smells good. Seems like a quality piece so far.

Thanks for the tip. They are having a sale, I got a black leather and rosewood wheel for $57 shipped. They didn't have swatches of the tan and camel leathers so I played it safe and went back black. The other wheel is being mailed back tomorrow.

Wood looks great. I love the dark cherry. $57? That's pretty good. It's got radio controls right?

Yea, radio controls and all. The site said they were having a sale. I guess they are clearing stock. The price depended on the combination that you picked. The pricing was all over the place. I spoke with them via chat to see if they had pictures of the leather and the wood grain, they said they didn't. So I hope it looks good when it arrives. I still can't believe how cheap they are. Steering wheels are generally expensive. I have always like rosewood, luckily it was on sale!

My wheel arrived yesterday. It is very nice. I can't believe it only cost me $57. I hope to install it this weekend.
