My steering wheel locks when put into drive or reverse when the car is turned on. It will lock up during the first couple times I try to steer it after the initial start, and the only way I've found to correct the problem since I'm driving is to slightly turn the key up, not quite cranking it but slightly up and it will unlock it. It hasn't been much of an issue until tonight when I turned onto a busy road and the steering wheel locked up on me.

It's the same kind of lock you get when you turn the car off. After it unlocks, I can sort of feel the steering wheel wanting to catch onto whatever locking mechanism is in there, and it's not until a couple minutes of driving that that goes away.

Any easy fixes for this?

Well, when your driving down the road and it locks up, just pray that you don't drive off a cliff and kill yourself.....But then you are God, so what do you have to worry about.

unknown at this time.
You need to replace the locking system parts immediately before you have an accident or scare someone into one. Until then do not drive it.

How do I remove this pin?
