Hi guys,

I'm wondering if I can swap a steering wheel on my 04 slt yukon that has the radio control buttons? Mine doesn't have the steering wheel controls but I do have the bose audio in it.

I was wondering what it would take to convert it over as my current steering wheel is a little weathered.

I'd appreciate any help on the subject. If it's going to be a big deal I'll continue to just adjust it at the radio. Not a huge deal but i think it would be cool if say the truck was already wired for it.

Thanks.

Swapping the wheel itself is not a problem, but getting the buttons to work is a bigger deal. You will need the steering column wiring harness from a model that has the buttons, and you will need the BCM reprogrammed by the dealer or someone who has a Tech 2.

No crap. I wondered if it would be like that or just plug in to a plug in that was already there. Thanks!

you need the clockspring and back in the days they used a VCI number that you bought from GM for 50.00 to input that option into your BCM. With out the VCI number you would never get it to work.
