MY previous 07 Z71 Tahoe battery died at aroung 35000 miles and just under 3 years. Haven't had any issues with my 11 Tahoe but it is only 9 months and 10000 miles old.

Thanks for the heads up. What are you guys replacing your stock ones with and how much did the new battery cost?

I went with an Exide 9 year dual terminal battery. I think it was a group 78DT, iirc. 770cca. I forget what the ca and reserve are. It was the 40 month free replacement warranty (prorated at X amount per month starting month 41 for the remainder of the 9 years). It was expensive, but I've never had a problem with Exide batteries, and hope I never do. It's a dang good battery too. Got me through hurricane irene last year. When I lost power I plugged my fridge into my truck's trailering wire harness via adapters. It kept my food cold, allowed me to charge my power drill batteries (Craftsman C3 collection. I have the radio, fan, and flashlight, all of were handy during the storm), cpap machine, and cell phone (even though it was useless, thank god for OnStar). All I had to do was start her up and let her run every couple of hours to recharge to the batteries. 36 hours without power and those batteries didn't fail me. Good thing too. The heat after the storm sucked. I was able to keep my infant son cool with those battery powered fans.

I replaced mine with a red top Optima I had laying around. The factory one acted up once and I said screw it and I changed it. Didn't need the wife getting stranded with the kids in the summer.
