Looking to replace my z71 18" wheels with some 17s. Want a little more tire. Looking at AR Outlaws 17x8 +30. Seems that "fitting" sites only give me the option for 18" when choosing my z71 from the drop downs. But if I put in LS 4wd, it shows 17s will fit. Backspacing will be about .04" less and the offset is +30 on the Outlaws. Hub is same.

Question is... other than the spring and shock difference, are there other steering components or suspension in the way if I go 17s? I can't image there is.

If you ever get aftermarket upper control arms you may have to get some wheel spacers to keep from rubbing the tire on them that’s the only issue I’ve ever ran into

Sorry but I'm slow. How do you get more tire if you are going to smaller rims? Isn't that less tire width?
I guess, a smaller rim means you can opt for more tire height?

Nothing at all, they Z71s came with 18 inch wheels is all.

Now if you went with a 265-70-18 you'd get an extra inch and the same sidewall height as if you went with a 17 inch wheel.

Thanks. That's what I went with. Coming any day, so I'll follow up just in case anyone else is looking for this answer. But it seems everyone wants 20s + now....
