Someone stole one of my 2023 Yukon Denali key fobs. Is my only option to go to the dealer to have the other fob deactivated so that the stolen one won’t work either? Then I have to pay $500 for a new fob? Any suggestions appreciated

Pretty much but a locksmith is probably cheaper, the fob or fobs need to be reprogrammed in order to erase the old stolen one from the system.
AND, if it had the key inside the fob then they can gain entry through the door lock

just the door, bu if it has some form of keyed ignition you would either now have 2 different keys or rekey it yes.
once the relearn is done all they could do is open the door
i thought all these new ones had push to start in which case if the fob was dead it is placed in a slot in the center console then it will start

So dealer quoted me $220 for the fob without the key or programming. It looks like these fobs are on line for a fraction of that cost. Has anyone ever bought a fob for a 2023 on line?

If you don't get at the dealer I recommend get at a locksmith.

you should be fine with buying one online, many should come with a key blank also or some may offer cutting the key as well, you might just need to provide the key code which the dealer can provide for you at the parts department counter. you just need to show proof of ownership and they can print it out for you.
just be sure the one you buy is oem and is the correct part number for your vin.
programming will still need to be done by the dealer or locksmith, locksmith should be cheaper.

Save yourself time and money, and go to your local locksmith. They sell fobs there, and they will program/re-program whatever is required to complete the setup. You'll be out of there in 15 minutes.
