I bought the Yukon Back from the Insurance Company It going to be me once in a while cruiser.

I put back together little bit at a time no big hurry It needs a fender front bumper mid under splash panel ignition and steering ignition cover.

It be a salvage car but who cares it a good still a good car.
I have an entire steering wheel column for sale with an ignition lol

i do agree being a diesel mechanic myself they do cost more to maintain
but since they are built much stronger then a gas engine they last much much longer becuase they are compression combustion
okay for fact
you can get 3 times more miles out of any light truck diesel on the market today when proper maintenece has been done
ive seen power strokes durmaxes cummins detroits cats with 250 go 500k miles and still run like champs
my grandfather had a 97 one tone dually ford powerstroke with 408k miles on it when he sold it
and it never had to have any major repairs done

There is a build thread witha cummings swap in a tahoe on perfomance trucks... its a good read
if you have a 2500 suburban or yukon xl then a durmax is realistic but a duramax on a 1500 suburban is still possible but very very costly becuase of the amount of modifications needed to be done becuase an allison and a duramax is pretty heavy and alot bigger
a cummins is really the only realistic cost effective diesel swap on a half ton that is atleast untill GM rolls out there 4.5 liter duramax

I took the Yukon apart today hook my chain and come along to the bent radiator lower support and pulled it straight I also had put in to 4 wheel low hooked to a pole to pull out it not bad it was tweaked not no more.

Beat the bumper out some it still need to be replaced but looks better.
I am taking the bumper mounting brackets to work and bend them back also.

As for the fender did my best but it done it has a bow in it I can get out of it the gap between the fender and hood on the Right hand side is about 3/4 inch I tried to loosen all the bolts up and push it over it no go and the hood hinges are not slotted so I can't split the different of the gap to make both side look even..

I no big hurry this will take awhile to put back together right it now a toy project car not my DD any more but I still like my Yukon.

And yes I hugged my Yukon today.

I going put the Yukon back as it was before it was stolen and wreaked.

I like to have bigger tires then again it now a once it a while car and it has new tires on it now so I doubt I fork out the money to new rims and bigger tires on it.

I owned many cars and trucks over the years I can say I really like the Yukon I am glad I got it back.

I received the call from the bank today they got the pay off check from the insurance company today.

The Yukon is all mine now it might take a while for me to put back together like it was but it get there.

I had to put a new battery in the Yukon today I been waiting to do this the old ignition they tore up when they rip it off and it had a short in it that gave it a constant current draw.

The new replacement ignition showed up and I installed it.
Now it is all rekeyed.

Next on the need to do list is a windshield and the rest can fixed down the road little here a little there.

I was surprised it been a while last time I had to buy a battery the went up in price.

I also installed a solar 5 watt battery charger I figured it going to be doing a lot of sitting this keep the battery charged at least.
