Hey guys, I’m new to the forum. I got a 03 Yukon slt with a flex fuel 5.3 only had it for about a month and love the truck. Always owned Chevy and gmc products, but this is the first one with the flex fuel 5.3 so my question is first can I just put a y pipe on it with just straight pipe exhaust without messing with a sensor or some sort of warning light coming on and 2nd question almost all 133,000 miles are highway miles, if well kept (is has been I know the previous owner) is 300,000 too farfetched to want out of this truck? Thanks for your answers and opinions.

Don't know the right answer to your first question but as far as going for the 300k mile mark as long as the vehicle has been well maintained and continues to be well maintained then 300k is definitely doable. I've known several with similar vehicles reach that mark or at least get very close....

300K is dependant on maint intervals.
So your saying take all the 02 sensors out, after the factory Y going straight pipe, or...? Not sure I understand where you mean.

You can get dummy O2 sensors so it still passes inspections. I think he means he wants to get rid of the muffler... which made my old Denali LOUD. I mean obnoxious.

Might also check with the folks in the section that deals with your year of Yukon....they may have already seen this before.
I meant just having the muffler taken off and two chrome tips put on coming out the back, didnt know anything about dummy censors or anything like that? What all would i need to do to take the muffler off at not have some weird message or check somthing light come on?

just cutting the mufflers off shouldnt trip a Check Engine Light....it will sound like crap and you may lose hp...but hey to each his/her own.
