The material was very close to the flange. Just picked out made sure all the broken pieces and dusty particles was out and put it back together.

Reading threads like this really makes me appreciate not living in a big-government state. Not that there's anything wrong with mine currently but I can't even imagine being forced to have my vehicle inspected. Hopefully you'll get through the emissions testing now.

It's ridiculous! People have no memory, it's been about twenty years since Florida has had emissions inspections and she almost elected another Marxist who would have surely brought it back. It used to be a joke. We'd have inspections for 4 years, then they'd stop and the places would be closed only to reopen 4 years later when a ****** won the next one.

Hehe, I think of Florida as a place where retirees go, so yes, failing memory as a whole. I have personal experience with that.

So the precat before O2 sensor 1 throws the ecm off? Like it’s thinking exhaust is too clean? Not sure how that works for the cat I/m.

Maybe one of the requirements to set the readiness monitor for the catalyst system is a certain amount of expected "dirtiness". Sure, it's probably not gonna show as an actual fault and set a code, but maybe it'll wait in limbo until it's satisfied that someone's not just dumping extra air into the exhaust system as an artificial means to make it think the cat converter is not inefficient.
