I have a 2008 Tahoe LTZ with the painted front black plastic bumper cover. when walking out of my house the other day I saw I had a nice big hole off to the passenger side where it just missed the impact bar in my bumper. Best guess someone backed into the spot in front of me while I was in grocery store earlier in the day. Had to be a tow hitch go through it and the flat part rubbed the bumper.

So my question is whether to spend the 450 dollars + tax on a dealer bumper cover or just buy one of the aftermarket ones off of ebay / amazon for around 150 shipped?

Does anybody have any experience with these aftermarket products? maybe suggest a vendor.

Either way I know I will have to get it painted. I am paying cash not filing on insurance.

Thanks for your help.

I have a lot of experience in this area - and I can tell you that the aftermarket covers are junk. They never fit correctly and don't hold up.

You're not too far away from me - I may have a cover laying around that just would need some paint. PM me, I may be able to to save you a bunch of money.

I can speak for the Street Scene front bumper cover and they are NOT junk and IS holding up since I've had one on my truck for 3 years. Fit is great and no issues mounting it up. Had it painted before I installed. Here is a picture of a stock photo.

Looks like the front lines up pretty good. How's it line up where the bumper meets the front fender on the side? Looks like it might me off alittle bit from that pic^ but non the less it looks good to me! Thumbs up

On mine...it's off a little bit, but it was expected since it's aftermarket. Maybe a 1/4 inch. I'm very happy with it and paint matches up perfect.
