Sunroof Exploded

Seems to be a more common problem than I would have expected across many car manufacturers. Consumer Reports published an article on this back in 2017. I read it, basically, they don't know why it happens but it does and the gub'ment should do more to prevent it.

Wow - sorry to see this. You said it happened during heavy rain - did you get any water damage? Any aftermarket tint on the sunroof?

Week plus two days, just heard replacement glass on its way from MI. Should be in by mid week. Hopefully they know how to replace it.

Did they say if they’re covering it under warranty? Glass is one of those things they usually don’t cover for obvious reasons- it’s usually impossible to determine what caused it to break, especially tempered glass. It’s generally an insurance item. Hopefully they get this fixed for you quickly.
