So I found a guy who is parting out his 08 suburban with 900 original miles and is willing to sell me the whole sunroof assembly ( glass, motor, switches, etc) Is it worth it to buy and would companies put it in my truck?

i hate my sun roof.. i took my car through the car wash... the pressure washers blew water through the sun roof and all over me and all over my roof and i was wearing a white polo shirt and the purple soap screwed my shirt and left a rpurple ring on my ceiling and yes i checked the sun roof was closed and since everything got wet it came off the track then it screwed up and got jammed/stuck and is half way open and now at night when i turn on my light bar i have above my tahoe it shines through the sun roof that i cant close and light up my whole interior! ugh i hate them. when you dont have one ya wont one and when ya have one you wonder why the hell its there

i love looking at tars and riding with the window down.. never use the sun roof. on a car they are pointless and you never use it but if you had one in your room in your house that may be a different story.

PS if you get in a wreck its that much more glass and thats one hell of a big hole to get thrown out of. IMO

I havent had any troubles with mine, it does stick a little if you havent used it for a while. I dont know what a place would charge but there are places that will do it. Dont know what the cost difference is between using the shops parts or your own though. There was another thread a while back that might have some info for ya

If you do get the sun roof just make sure you take care of the seal. Dress it regularly

I opened mine once, when I bought it to make sure it worked. I hate them too. I never even open the shade. I would never specifically order one on a car.

I use my sunroof all the time. But it is going to be expensive to have it installed. Your best bet is to have a custom moon roof installed.

i use mine all the time! i love them and would buy a car with it for sure. Though when its not opened i keep the shade closed just to keep the interior a little cooler in the summer and keep the sun from beating down on the leather...

might be a bit expensive to install, but if you can get a good price i say go for it!

Dont know how much you are looking to spend but even the dealer can refer to a place that will do the whole thing for under 1500. Only reason I didnt go for it is because I live in Seattle and we only get sun a few months out of the year

I love mine, if I didn't have one I'd either trade for one with a sunroof or install one. I kinda like how the Jeep Commander had 2 individual moonroofs in the 2nd row, one above each seat. I'd definitely want something like that done to mine.

talk to your local body shop(s) and see what they can do or recommend.
