How does a turbo work compared to a supercharger. I never had an import or a turbo diesel so I'm not too familiar with the workings of them. Does it just go inline from the filter to the TB and kick on at a certain RPM?

It could be a centifugal supercharger, they look like turbo units. Vortech makes some like that.

Is this a serious question?

This. The difference between a turbo and sc is the turbo is driven by exhaust and a sc is belt driven off of your crank. A sc has more immediate response then a turbo because the turbo has to wait to get the results of the throttle inputs until after the combustion cycle has completed. There are two types of sc's, centrifugal and roots type. A centrifugal looks just like a turbo, but with a pulley on the outside of the housing to put an engine driven belt onto. Ask for more pictures to make sure that this is, indeed, a sc. I don't suggest buying this stuff without personally inspecting it though. You need to find out things like pulley wobble and shaft wobble.

Thnx for the info guys...... I wasn't too interested in picking it up I've just never seen a supercharger like that or heard of a Tahoe/Yukon with a turbo....

I take that back, that kid had that sick thread with the twin turbos on the Esky, right?

At any rate. No I know a little more about the different supercharges and turbos. Thnx guys. Peace out.

Trust me, alot of guys just don't know what a turbo or supercharger is. I had a guy who is 100% into cars tell me the other day that superchargers work from exhaust. I had to politely send him a link a few days later and say, "Hey check out this new supercharger I'm checking out."

It was a pic of the supercharger and the air intake :)
