roots is better for offroad and stuff bc it makes instant boost, so a magna might be perfect for you.

but with every other part in your truck, you have to have a goal that you want to work towards, and your decision should be made off that goal. what rpm range do you hope to perform in? do you plan on doing more to the motor? cam? heads? or just want to slap a blower on and call it a day?

heres the blower setup on one of my customers(not automotive, hvac) 5.3 burban...

I'm all street here low and fast

Cam heads and crank?

im with u bro! im still undecided on heavily modding my truck, but id love to slam it on 24s with the goal to make as much power as i can.

heads and cam alone will make gobs of power on these motors. they will also raise your power range, which is when a centrifugal will shine. theres prob no need to do the crank unless you have a good bit of miles. but if you did get a new crank, i would do pistons and rods as well to make it a stroker. if you get a 6.0(i assume a 5.3 is the same but not sure), you can stroke it to 408 ci. a 408 with healthy heads and cam, 550-600 should be a safe estimate. then put boost on that and your talking the numbers these trucks need to run with nice sports car. wouldnt you love to embarass a corvette, cobra, 370z, etc with your big luxurious 6000 lbs beast on some 24s, lol

even know this build isnt what most people here have in mind. you dont need a stroker to rase the powerband. i know a guy with a 5.3 in his mustang, with exception of cam and valvesprings, the motor is stock and he revs it to 8k. not saying that setup would be ideal in a dd 6000 lbs vehicle, just saying it can be done if thats what tickles your fancy
