2007 Yukon XL (06 build), 127K, with original suspension components. Vehicle has endured 8 years of towing a boat, and other light duty trailers, but currently serves as a daily commuter and interstate cruiser for vacations.

All of the suspension components are original. The ride quality, especially over broken/rippled pavement, causes a lot of play/bounce. I'm thinking the shocks may need replacing. Ride height has not changed. Tires really don't show signs of irregular wear.

Suggestions, or your own experiences? Did you replace shocks, or other components by now? I perform most of my own maintenance, as I despise being told by shops that I need headlight fluid, or that something "mysteriously" breaks soon after a visit to the shop.

Thanks for any info/advice.

Shocks and Struts, and check your ball joints and tie-rod ends while under there just in case

I have 2008 Z 71 with 155,000 miles on original shocks and springs. Had same issues you are having and turned out to be a right lower ball joint. Shocks and springs are doing just fine.
