Do i have a torsion bar in the rear as well? I just bought my 04 tahoe LT and when looking around i noticed there was a torsion bar in both front and rear instead of what i thought would be leaf springs. Is this normal for all tahoes or just specific to a certain package?

Just so you know there is are suspension forums...may get more views & help there but...

Our front suspension is torsion bars...

Our rear suspension is a 4 link style setup with a coil spring & panhard bar for axle centering...you don't have torsion bars on the rear suspension.

Yup...one side connects to the pass side frame & the other connects to the axle housing on the left side of the pumpkin.

He could also be talking about the sway bar, as it is mounted off the back of the axle. But I really hope you do some reading about new tech if you didn't know what a 4-link looked like and it's been used for over 10 years now in tahoe/yukons. Hell, some manufacturers have had it over 30 years.

Again, this belongs in the suspension forum, not the Tech area...

Lowell: what do you mean "change suspension system"? lowered? lifted? leaf spring conversion? air bags? There are a few options out there.
