Syncing Tire Pressure Sensors

Hi all - I have a new set of wheels and tires showing up today with new tire pressure sensors installed. Do I have to go to the dealer to sync them to the truck or, like the trailer pressure sensors, can I do it through the dashboard?

Your owners manual gives a procedure where you can synch up the TPMS units by yourself. Just make sure that the frequencies of the TPMS units match the frequency of the control module for your truck's model year (there are at least 2 different frequencies used by GM, depending on the truck's model year).

I don't believe you can sync tire pressure sensors for the vehicle through the infotainment system - only the trailer pressure sensors have the option to sync through the trailering menu. The dealer or most tire shops will have the tool to make the vehicle see the new tire pressure sensors.

So based on the manual, you need to drive at 12 mph for 10 minutes for the TPMS to pair properly. I'll give that a shot and if it doesn't work I'll run over to the dealer to sync them.

Thank you. Driving around doesn't sync them so will probably need the tool or will have to run to the dealer.

Thank you. Turns out they installed the wrong sensors (wrong frequency) so I am addressing it with the Tire company.
