Tach learn remote starter

Any alarm gurus here?
There is a 12 year old DEI Hornet alarm system in my truck. Remote start always worked fine. My fuel pump died a couple months ago and I drained the battery trying to start it. Not sure if this is related but my remote starter isn't working correctly. It starts my truck and after a few seconds it turns it off and starts again, then again. I tried the tach learning procedure, but it won't learn (LED light doesn't light up).

Anyone?

Do you know the exact model number of the Hornet alarm you have?

Wish I did. I was hoping to avoid having to drop the dash to pull the box out.
