Was looking on craigslist and saw a couple sets of yukon tails for sale, one set was stock red, the other was the gm parts that are clear/greyish color. Is there anything I need to change wiring wise to swap these lights out, or is it plug and play?

I believe plug and play all gmt900's are exept for esky's where you would need wiring done.

Yes, except for the Escalade and Tahoe/Yukon Hybrid tail lights, they are all interchangeable.

Not sure about how those Yukon ones will look on your truck ... most of us who own Yukons, can't get them off our trucks fast enough. :)

The lights them selves are interchangeable but the yukon wiring harness will not work on tahoe lights and vise versa. My buddy has a yukon with very dark tint and wanted to borrow my tahoe lights to get inspected but his harness would not fit in my lights. It was very strange. I wouldnt want yukon lights on my tahoe but its your truck you can do as you please.

Wait ... did you try to just swap the lamps whilst keeping the existing harness with the bulbs attached to the trucks? If so it will not work cause not all the bulb sizes are the same.

But if you swapped lamps with their respective harnesses attached, then the harness should plug right in under the bumper and work.

Meaning that if your buddy borrowed your tails and harnesses together they should plug and work. ... otherwise aftermarket tails would have different harness for Tahoes and Yukons, which they don't.

Ya sorry we were in a rush and just tried to change the lamps with no harness. I know we should have changed the harness but thought it being gm and the same amount of light bulbs and the same truck pretty much that it would be a quick swap.
