I have a 2010 Avalanche and 2011 Tahoe and they both do the same thing you're describing. It's just the way the transmissions in these trucks work. More than likely, there's nothing wrong with your truck.

I recently put a BBP Tune into my Tahoe and there's a noticeable difference in the throttle response and the way the truck shifts. I know nothing about tuning, but was able to install BB's tune based on their instructions. It's actually really easy once you do it once.

I have a question. Does a tune void the warrantee? I am asking as I have a '12 Tahoe. I am interested in a tune, but not if it voids the warrantee. Thanks.

This has been debated in the various forums ad nauseam and everybody has a different opinion so I'll give you mine and others can give theirs and you can decide for yourself.

I was VERY MUCH concerned about my warranty on my 2011 and the extended warranty I purchased. I researched this issue for months and read literally at least a thousand posts on the subject on the 10 forums Black Bear sponsors and elsewhere.

GM does tell their dealers to check for changes to the stock calibrations before doing a repair on the drive train and will not do it under warranty if they discover a non standard calibration. They do a Calibration Verification Number (CVN) check which is similar to a check sum function with computers. If the ECM has been returned to stock the many tune parameters will add up and the CVN's will match to what GM says they should be. Our trucks do not have flash counts or a flash historiy like the Global A vehicles.

If you get a tune and return it to stock before getting service with the AutoCal GM won't know. At least not with the current tools and pratices they now use. I would imagine the new 2014's will be different just like the Global A vehicles and diesels. I have read that with the new diesels you can't even unlock the ECM to change the tune.

I have seem posts where people claim that they can tell but I have never read the FIRST post where someone had a tune and returned it to stock and THEIR tune was discovered and warranty was denied. I have also seen Justin with BlackBear confirm this in posts and in an Email to me. Personally I'm not worried. I keep my AutoCal in my truck loaded with the stock tunes so if I break down on a trip etc I can return it to stock in a couple of minutes.

If someone gets a tune and abuses their truck then I think they should pay but I only wanted mine to be drivable. I hated the way it drove and shifted so much that I would have risked it anyway or sold it. Shame on GM for programming these trucks with such inferior calibrations.

I HATE the way these shift. :emotions122:

And, after it Roars, then it seems like the truck get confused and the shifts flare / or the truck jerks as it figures out what gear you want now.....

My 2009 Suburban seems worse than my 2011 Yukon XL. Maybe they changed something......

As a matter of fact I took my truck in 2 times to have it checked.....and what's even funnier I asked them if they had a reprogram available.

What's up? My 2010 Tahoe doesn't feel like it's responding right when I press the accelerator. The car responds slowly at first, then when I have pushed the accelerator down to a certain point, the car jumps and the engine roars and the car will speed way up. This is hard to describe, so please ask questions if I'm not being clear. The car has 60K miles on it. Any ideas?

Thank you for your purchase of the Chevrolet Tahoe. I'm very sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing. Have you gotten this issue resolved at this time? If you have not, feel free to PM me with your 8-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), and I would be happy to look into this further. Thank you very much.

I am happy to hear back from you.
