Reread first post...

I have a '03 Tahoe Z71 5.3L Flex Fuel and it will not start under 1/4 - 1/2 tank sometimes. It doesn't matter on the temperature or anything, it just sometimes starts and sometimes doesn't when under 1/2 tank. I have read in other threads that this could be due to the fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, or fuel pump. I have replaced all three of those with brand new parts and the problem persists. It always starts above 1/2 tank with no problems. Spark plugs, battery, and alternator are new as well. Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for not reading closely enough. Hook up a preassure gauge and see what you get when the no start event happens. Ignition tester would also be helpfull in this case.

Oil preassure sensor and ignition switch might be a tip ..... Even if it dosent have anything directly affect with the half tank issue.

For the pressure gauge and ignition tester, are those both items that I would be able to rent or borrow from an AutoZone or other parts store?

My wife's '03 Burb does the same thing. Its worst when on an incline like our driveway is on our house since 2006. When it did this, i would coast it out of the driveway to level ground and put a few gallons in the tank. It would take a little bit, but would finally start. Yeap, sounds just like it was out of fuel, but it wasn't. Hasn't done it in a while, but think she finally learned to keep it above 1/4 tank.

Yea, that's what I have been doing so far. Every once in a while though I will run it in between 1/2 and 1/4; then I'm stranded somewhere.

Just get a new fuelpump. I had the same problem at my '01 Tahoe, my fuel gauge was also not very accurate.
But after i changed this unit last weekend, everything works great.
