You should be seeing 17 to 18mpg. Highway.
15mpg should be your average.
This is all depending on how you drive, where you drive, and the condition of your vehicle.

I get 18mpg I our 07 Yukon on the highway running 70 mph on mostly flat land.

The only difference that I have noticed is the tire size. Our tires are roughly 2-2.5" shorter than a standard Tahoe/Yuk. That's 200+ RPMs higher.
Not sure about gearing, I have 3:73s in mine with 28.5" tall tires.
Cruising at 65mph I'm at a little over 2k rpms. That's not getting me 17/18mpgs, hah.

That is what I concerned. The 200 higher engine RPM could off-set fuel mileage beyond EPA rated fuel mileage.

Hopefully some members who own Tahoe PPV Z56 police package input your experience about fuel mileage.

You're about 300rpm's faster than what normally is happening. The type of tires which you have on it will have a large impact on fuel economy as well.

@jz57 I have an 07 ppv and can tell you, that the best i have ever been able to obtain is 15mpg highway, when I drove it home on a 5hr interstate trip. I too did some digging into the poor fuel economy, compared to the sticker. I can't remember where i found the info, but it basically boiled down to the fact that the service tahoe's are carrying extra weight from extra/larger coolers, brakes, and have some unique gearing.

I have a 2011 SSV. Stock tire sizes. When I got it i was getting 10 city. I changed plugs, wires, oil, filters and cleaned the throttle View media item 25102View media item 25098View media item 25188body. Next I got a Superchips Flashpaq tuner and uploaded their fuel saver mode.
The first tank of gas I got 14.9 city. After that I've been getting 12-13.5 steady. Depends how hard I am on the gas pedal. I took it recently on a 200 mile round trip. Going out I got 19+ mpg at 65_70mph.
Coming back I was pulling a uhaul and had it in trailer mode. I got 13+ MPG at 65-70mph.
I still need to clean the mass air flow and replace the O2 sensors. Hopefully I will pick up a bit more MPG from it. So far, so good though.

When we first got our '10 PPV, we were getting ~18 MPG, then, earlier this year, something happened and the mileage dropped to ~13 MPG. I changed the plugs and wires and got no change. I cleaned the MAF and that got us back a MPG almost instantaneously. I want to clean the TB and see if that will help any, but it's my wife's DD, and she seems to be perpetually on call. Some day, though, I'll get it done.

We have a MIT, and BlackBear tune. The MPG actually went up a bit after the tune, but then dropped this year. Not sure what has happened. Maybe the local gas stations have started tainting the gas with more alcohol, I don't know. That would be one explanation. I do plan to also run a couple of tanks of VP MS109 through it to see if the MPG picks up any. That'll verify my theory on the gas. We'll see.

Actually, PPVs are lighter. Stripped interior, no console w/amenities, third row seating and even the hitch.
Brakes are standard 13" rotors on all service and civilian models and gears. I believe that changed in 04/05 when they used to be 12".

When I got my 07, I was getting about 10 MPGs. It was awful, never understood why. I had a few run ins with some "tuners" and one of them actually helped out a lot. I can say I'm getting roughly 16MPGs. Removing the E85 and disabling the DOD seemed to help. Even though the "tuning" helped my fuel economy, it doesn't drive the same. I actually don't really feel any difference, seems to be more of a dog than anything.

I wonder if the 6spds MPG ratings are higher. Do you know by chance?
I know after my tune, things went sour and it has never driven the same since.
Mine used to be such a joy to drive, now it pretty much drives itself. Sucks to be honest.
Please post up how things go when you use the VP fuel. I was looking at an additive that supposedly boosts your octane until someone recommended to just buy some race gas.

The throttle body cleaning will definitely smooth out the motor. It only takes about twenty minutes. Four 10mm bolts and off it comes. Be sure to reach inside the intake and wipe out what you can.
