Excellent, thanks so much for the info. Looking at the pictures of the running boards it sure looked like it fit into a hole but seeing is believing. Thanks again!

What did that square bushing sit against? Was there a bolt or anything in it? Did that fender bolt go through it? I always assumed there was a square hole behind that round plug in the middle of your 1st picture.

I honestly didn't see anything that it mounted to/against underneath or along the rocker panel. I'll look again this weekend.

On a side note: I'm looking for a nice set of factory boards with the chrome strip for a SWB -- If anyone has removed theirs I'd be interested.
