Tahoe SS - Plans & Build Thread

I sold my Trailblazer SS this week and decided to buy my wife an Acura MDX and start driving her 08 tahoe that has practically no miles on it.

The truck is an LT3 that is black on black.

I always wished GM would make a Tahoe SS so I'm gonna make mine myself. Here is a list of things I'm going to purchase or will do/have done to the truck.

Sounds crazy but I want it "stock as possible". I don't want anything that screams custom haha

If you think of any suggestions to make the "SS" that GM should have made please chime in.

Exterior
1. 2/3 drop - Complete
2. Sway Bars - Complete
3. TBSS 22" Rep Wheels (competition gray) - On Order
4. Shave Roof Rack - Pending
5. Street Scenes Front SS Bumper Cover - On Order
6. Street Scenes Side Skirts (delete steps) - On Order
7. Rear Hitch Cover - Complete
8. Paint Grille Surround Same Color as SS Bumper Ducts - Pending
9. Street Scenes Mesh Grille in grille & Bumper Cover (Black) - On Order
10. SS Badging off TBSS (ONLY AFTER SUPERCHARGED...no posing lol) - Pending
11. GMC Yukon Red Taillights - Something "different" yet stock looking - Pending

Interior
1. Replace Woodgrain with Brushed Aluminum Trim - On Order
2. Something Gauge related - Open to Suggestions
3. Tint - Complete

Performance
1. Exhaust - Thinking Corsa Touring or something that looks OEM
2. Tune - Pending - Need direction.
3. Supercharger - Pending. Need direction
4. Brakes - Want something performance driven but want it to look "stock" i was thinking a Z06 Brake conversion but doesn't look like it's gonna work with the McG spindles I have on it already

Sounds like a nice build! Can't wait to see the results.

Sounds like money isn't an object here...

With that said, Magnacharger TVS1900 if you are keeping stock internals, or TVS2300 if you are going to start tearing into the motor.

Tune = Blackbear, hands down. Anyone who disagrees hasn't compared them to anyone or anything else. I recommend running their AUTOCAL setup.

Z06 brakes WILL work with the MCG Spindles, I had them on my truck, however, you would need to have brackets made to work with the NNBS (GMT900) trucks. Mine was an 06 and the brakes worked awesome.

As far as Exhaust, run the CORSA. Looks great, sounds great. Just don't run it if you are going to go catless with headers. It will be too raspy, been there done that.

1. American racing headers with a stock 6.2 catback
2. Being your in the Houston area you have lots of options to choose from.There are some really fast trucks (sub 12 sec) in your area and they dont get that fast with bad tuning
3. If the budget allows id swap in a 6.2 and put a tvs 2300 on top..With a good cam you'll be putting over 500hp/tq to the ground

i say go with stcok escalade tail lights over yukons. Look stock but WAY nicer

Gauge related, I switched my face out to the Royal Diamond one and it receives lots of compliments. I want to switch to the 2007 Denali gauges though.

I can't even add into this because you have everything pretty mucch set. As mentioned above, a Magnacharger an BB tune will put some horses in your Tahoe. Blackbear Performance can sell you both at a good price.
