I know this could have maybe gone in the interior section, but to me it is more about intermodel choices and compromises – admins, please do move this thread if you do not agree.

I have a “lost” Yukon 22 Denali XL stuck in Midlothian since March - ordered December 21. Grabbed a Suburban Premier a few weeks ago as it seems unlikely it will ever make it and I thought it would be a long wait to get a 23’ Denali Ultimate.

Heres the thing: I am very unimpressed with the seat (before you destroy me, it was just impossible to test drive any full size GM SUV for years around where I live). I am 6’9’’, and find the seat bottom is way too short, lacks padding and doesn’t have enough range of motion for the upwards tilt to support my legs.

For the few here with Ultimates such as @Aemycod13 , or for anyone here who drove both Tahoe/Suburbans and Yukon Denalis, is there a big difference in padding. shape or tilt range of motion for the seat bottom (seems like the extra adjustments are all for the seat back)?

This is bothering me enough that I am thinking of cancelling my multiple Ultimate orders and flipping the Suburban.

My wife has a 21 Tahoe premier and I have a 22 Silverado high country, the seats in my truck are firmer and I would say boxier I suppose. Best way I can think to describe, which might be better for you. And the 1500 truck seats are same seats as the high country Tahoe/suburban. Both trim levels have the same functions too. I can’t speak for the Yukon’s seats, I’ve never driven one.

My wife has a Denali ultimate - 2021 not the new brown interior. I have a 2022 suburban z71. Seats are the same, her leather is closer to real leather and feels nicer and nicer texture. Same otherwise.

The previous generation was even worse! After 2 years I couldnt take it anymore. GM has the worst seats of such a high priced vehicle. My 2021 Sierra Denali seats are the same as the Yukon and Suburban. The stitching is a little different but same seats. Better than last generation but marginal. Too hard, not comfortable. I am hoping the 2024 are better.

Thanks for your input gents. I kept my Ultimate orders for now, hoping the seats will be somewhat better...

A few year ago I bought a like-new Silverado with the Katzkin leather seats, they were so much nicer than some of todays leather seats. The interior was why I chose that truck.

I have a 2023 Yukon Ultimate and like the seats. I’m 6’2 and they are plenty comfortable for me. They also have a massaging feature which is quite nice. Just drove 26 hours to Florida and it was comfortable all the way down. The 3.0L Duramax is amazing!

Oh my gosh...my sentiments EXACTLY! I had the 2015 Suburban and LOVED the seats...so comfortable. I just bought the 2022 Suburban Premier and went on a 7-hour trip. My back is WRECKED! These seats are TERRIBLE. Exactly what you said...seem shorter, narrower, honestly feels like I'm not centered with steering wheel and off to the right because of that plastic area on left with hip air bag. I actually don't feel like I completely fit on the seat and I'm a 5'10" woman weighing 165. The upwards tilt does not go up enough as previous models to support my legs and the pedals don't adjust so they are awkwardly far back and up and down so uncomfortable for your foot. I'm so disappointed with this car for the price. I don't know if I'll even be able to get my money out of it as I literally bought weeks ago, but need to look into trading it in or my back and shoulders will be in constant pain.

The 1996-1999 MY Suburbans had the best seats...was like a lazy boy...actual leather, padded folding armrests...Sure miss those! Probably not as safe...but the arse and back sure loved them.
