Tahoe tail light harness clip

I put my LED tail lights back on the truck this afternoon and for some reason can't get the connector to snap back into the clip that holds them on the frame/underbody. Probrably something simple and easy but I gave up since its in the 30's lol! Anybofy got any tips? I'm talking about the little black piece that hold the factory harness to the truck.

It slides into a track molded into the connector IIRC.
