Tahoe wont shift out of first at wot

My tahoe wont shift out of first at wide open throttle.I went to smoke a ricer today but it wouldnt shift out of first unless I let off to about half throttle,by then the the ricer smoked me.Anyone else have this problem?

Was it bouncing off the rev limiter? If not then it wasnt readyvto shift yet. My hoe when full throttle maxes out the rpm then switches into next gear. Ive smoked cars in mine and have raced nnbs diesels and kept up

Ya it bounces off the limiter and stays in first untill I let off throttle to about half way.Any ideas?

Do you have a programmer in it?
